WHO WE ARE

We, as a bunch of friends, come together from diverse cultures, under a single banner to offer you our warmth, friendship, and moral support in your journey as university students.

Multicultural Student Fellowship (MSF) as an organisation is a network of multicultural Christian clubs across campuses in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The purpose of MSF is to build a cross cultural friendship. Through the clubs' fun activities, fellowship, and support groups, MSF is known as the club that has a strong bond of friendship and warmth that last longer beyond university days. MSF members worldwide still maintain the contact and friendship even years after they graduate and return to their respected countries.

WHY WE ARE HERE

Uni life can be exciting, but to some people, it can be really lonely, and during some days, it can be really flat and boring. MSF is here to change your experience as a uni student. When you actively join us, you'll forget your lonely, flat and boring days as a uni student. And we'll support you to do well in your studies too.

What we found also is that most international students who come here have difficulties making friends with students from other nationalities or ethnic groups. Being one of the most multicultural cities in the world, Melbourne is the best place to be for making cross cultural friendship! That's why we are here.

What we do?

Lots and lots of fun and positive gathering and activities. From BBQ, multicultural dinner, lunch, sports, day trips, ice skating, snow trip, you name it!See our photo galleries for more!

OUR HISTORY

In 1998, a group of international students at Swinburne University started a club for international students, namely International Student Ministry (ISM). ISM was officially recognised and affiliated with the Swinburne Student Union (SSU).

The success of ISM has inspired some students in RMIT to get together and form another club in 2001, namely International Student Fellowship (ISF), which was also then affiliated with RMIT Union.

In 2002, Monash students saw the need of a multicultural student club in the campus, embracing not just international students, but also local students. Hence, a new club in Monash University Caulfield campus was established and affiliated with Monash University Student Union (MONSU), namely, Multicultural Student Fellowship (MSF).Given the close and active relationship and collaboration among these three clubs, there was an emerging need for a common name for the club. Therefore, in 2004, all the existing clubs use Multicultural Student Fellowship (MSF) as the official name until now.

In 2005, MSF was started in Deakin University - Burwood campus. Given the rarity of student clubs in this campus, the presence of MSF was accepted and embraced well by the students.

Although we now only officially recognised and affiliated in these four universities, we also have members from Melbourne University, Victoria University, William Angliss, Holmesglen TAFE, La Trobe University, Central Queensland University, Holmes College, and many more.

We have had members from over 40 nations of the world. MSF has impacted many lives in Melbourne. Some of them have gone home and have successful career. Yet, they would always remember that it was through MSF that their life as a student in Melbourne was a wonderful and rewarding experience.
